Kim Does anyone have experience with international student visas? We're concerned that because we live in America, Ying's son will be denied without consideration. However, he can show strong ties to China because he has a house in his name there and lots of other family members. Any help or advise is greatly appreciated.

Kim We're happily settled in Idaho, enjoying our lives together. Ying loves it here. I love having her here with me.We've already gotten here Social Security number. She's also been driving with her Chinese driver's license, although not in the snow yet.

Kim Ying passed her interview! Thank you all for your prayers and good luck wishes! Ying wants me to share with you that the interview ticket number assigned to her was 1088, the Guangzhou hotel room we stayed in was 2008, and our GZO number ends in 5008, 8 being a very lucky number in Chinese culture. Indeed, we have been most fortunate throughout this process. Thank you Randy and Ying Marsh most of all. We feel so blessed to have found your network of support so early on in the process!

Kim Today, the day of my wife's actual interview, I stayed at the hotel, but sent my passport with her (and my notarized proof of relationship cover letter). I'm hoping it helps to confirm our valid, committed relationship. I've done everything I know how to do to help her succeed. Mr. Yang, the hotel manager has reviewed what she will take to the interview and has assured us that he doesn't see any roadblocks. Thank you all for your prayers and good luck wishes. I'll keep you posted on what happens today!

Kim I'm in Guangzhou right now. We're staying in a hotel just around the corner from the consulate building. The hotel manager and his wife are helping us set up Ying's medical exam. They're also giving us some free advice. The only thing they've advised me on was to add a notarized letter describing my relationship with Ying, how it began, when we were married, what travel we've done together, how much and how well we've communicated. They recommended that I should include this will all of the proof of relationship evidence I already have. Tomorrow, Ying will have her medical exam, Tuesday will be fingerprinting and document intake, then the interview will take place on Wednesday, November 16.

Kim Randy, the name of the hotel is tian yu hua yuan. The hotel manager, is indeed a Mr. Yang (Yang Jia Hua), and his wife introduced herself as Ning. Mr. Yang does not speak English, but his wife does. His cell phone number is 13724842886. Mr. Yang actually rode with us by taxi out to one of the approved hospital facilities which does the medical exams.

101 Admin Kim, If you see Mr, Yang, ask him if the link or our resources page is correct. Xiaoying an I talked to him an his wife by phone a few months ago. And it was Rick who told me about them. I hear they really know there stuff. A great resource.

Kim Ok, I will. The contact information is exactly correct (cell phone numbers, etc.). Miss Lei may be Mr. Yang's sister-in-law. BTW, the resource page says the hotel is across the street from the consulate office, but it is actually on the same block as the consulate, just around the corner. I recommend that wives and fiancees call Mr. Yang or Miss Lei as soon as you know the interview date.

Kim My wife's interview is set for Nov. 15, 3 months after USCIS I-130 approval (Aug. 16), 7 months from USCIS I-130 petition acceptance (Apr. 15). Thank you for your help and guidance bringing us to this exciting point in the process with very few issues.

Kim It asks for: 1) GUZ / GZO case number 2) Visa Category 3) Name of each applicant in English and Chinese characters 4) Current mailing address in Chinese characters with postal code 5) Date of Marriage (if applicable) 6) Local Telephone Number. But there's no space on the form to put all of this information. That's why I want to see how others have filled this out.

Kim Say, can anyone tell me the cheapest way to get my spouse's belongings to America? There's no way we're going to be able to fit everything she has in four suitcases < 50 lbs each. How did you do it?

Rick By the time you spend the money on extra fees for shipping, and much luggage,do as I did and buy her new things here in America. She only needs to bring things she can not obtain here in the states.

Haruki Rick's suggestion would be the least expensive. But I have noticed, there are a lot of women's clothing designs you can't buy here in the US.

Kim Randy, I send some questions to Rick about the NVC Electronic Filing process. I want to request electronic filing tomorrow morning but I'm concerned Rick may not read his emails regularly. Can you please get word to him to read his email soon?

Kim I called the NVC automated phone number, 603-334-0700 today and learned that I have been assigned an NVC case number (GUZ number). The automated message says to allow 6-8 weeks for the beneficiary to receive notification. Does it really take that long?

Kim I talked to a customer service representative at the NVC. She asked me to allow at least 20 business days before I receive e-mail notification and instructions. My hands are tied until I get the Affidavit of Support Bill Invoice#, right?
